Local initiative uses art to support underprivileged children.

Opening on 9 June 2012, Art for Fun is an exhibition of 20 UAE-based artists works aiming to raise awareness of the humanitarian situation of the children in the refugee camps of Beirut and support the Kahkaha project in Lebanon. Hosted by thejamjar, curated by The Domino and initiated by Dubai resident Scott Thoresen, the exhibition is a community effort that encourages creatives to use their art in aid of those less privileged. 
Kahkaha is an ongoing project in Lebanon to build relaxed spaces for children living in impoverished and isolated areas where they can play, learn and interact in a fun and encouraging environment. All displayed works will be for sale as contributions made by the artists in support of the charity and cause. 
The exhibition launches on 9 June 2012 at thejamjar, Al Quoz. The opening night will give people an opportunity to view the art while learning more about Kahkaha project through a fun event.  The exhibit will then be open for public viewing during the week at scheduled timings, concluding with an open evening at thejamjar on 14 June 2012 from 7.30pm - 9pm followed by an after party at the renowned Deep Crates night at Casa Latina, Ibis Hotel, Al Barsha. This event features live music and art, and will allow the public to gain information about the project in Lebanon.
