Young Artist Programme - YAP
Our Young Artist Programme is one of the first Dubai based comprehensive art programme for ages 7 - 16 designed to mentor and guide our students to develop their creative thinking as well as their artistic skills.
Split in two sections, YAP Junior (ages 7-10) and YAP Senior (ages 11-16), our seven-week modules are scheduled around the academic year. Attendees observe a theme through which they will learn History, Theory and Practice of Art, and will be encouraged to grow confidence in critical and independent thinking.
All students will develop their own portfolio or work, using different techniques and materials, culminating to an exhibition on the 8th week.
Term 1 - October 2019,
Starting on 8 October - 23 November
Exhibition on 29 November
In the first term of our Young Artist Programme this year, we will guide students to explore "perspective", as a technique, theme, philosophy and as a mean to establish new creative bonds. Through developing a multidisciplinary portfolio, students will be guided to reflect upon what it means to shift one's point of view if front of the object and/ or an idea and guide the viewer's look to understanding a secondary meaning in their work. They will be invited to ideate, critique and imagine new meanings as a way to visually express themselves.
