Young Artist Programme - YAP

Our Young Artist Programme is one of Dubai's first comprehensive art programmes for ages 7 - 16 designed to mentor and guide our students to develop their creative thinking as well as their artistic skills.

Split in two sections, YAP Junior (ages 7-10) and YAP Senior (ages 11-16), our seven-week modules are scheduled around the academic year. Attendees observe a theme through which they will learn History, Theory and Practice of Art, and will be encouraged to grow confidence in critical and independent thinking.

All students will develop their own portfolio or work, using different techniques and materials, culminating to an exhibition on the eighth week.

"I learned that drawing and painting is harder than I thought. I learned how fun painting is and how unique it is. It's a lot of fun being creative at thejamjar!"

Term 3 - May 2020,

Theme: Reflection

In YAP Term 3, children will confront ideas about “Reflection”. Through introspection and artistic awareness, they will experiment with various mediums and practice essential artistic skills to produce new artwork every week.

Heavily project based, this seven-week programme will encourage students to express themselves through art, while reflecting inwardly as well as outwardly about civic and social issues.

An exhibition of their work will be held at thejamjar during the eighth week.

YAP Timings:

Tuesday 4:30pm - 6:30pm / mixed age group

Thursday 4:30pm - 6:30pm / mixed age group

Saturday 10am -12pm / Junior

12:30pm - 2:30pm / Senior

All attendees will get a hands-on experience of taking part in a group exhibition, inviting friends and family to see their art work and celebrate their accomplishments.

Help your child enhance their knowledge about the world of art in a fun and creative environment. Sign them up for our Jam Camps!
