Kids Weekly Workshops
Note: Parents are welcome to stay in the studio , however we ask parents to refrain from sitting in the class to allow the children explore and express their own creativity.

All bookings must be paid with an upfront deposit of the full amount of the class.
Rescheduling of the class must be done at least 24 hours before the intended date. If you wish to cancel the class beyond 48 hours' notice, Please be advised that only half of the full amount of the deposit (50%) received is refundable.
If the Cancellation notice is done at least 2 days before the intended date, a 100% full refund will be sent back to your account.

Artful Toddlers with Rahma Hussain

The Art of Batik with Ujay

Step into the vibrant world of Malaysian batik in this immersive fabric coloring workshop led by Ujay, a batik artist with over 15 years of experience. Hosted by Dubai Batik Studio, this session invites you to explore a Southeast Asian art form known for its expressive color, floral motifs, and intuitive design.
This isn't just painting, it's about transforming fabric into storytelling. You'll be introduced to special batik dyes brought in from Malaysia, a curated selection of brushes in all sizes, and color palettes inspired by nature and culture. Every participant will receive their own color mixing guide to help create dynamic contrasts, subtle blends, and layered textures.
What You’ll Explore:
- How to mix and layer fabric dyes for vibrant, dimensional color
- Malaysian batik techniques adapted for canvas work
- Water-based blending to achieve soft, bleeding effects
- Using large and fine brushes to create texture and detail
- Painting directly on fabric, building up or allowing colors to seep organically
- Painting your own piece with motifs inspired by florals, nature, and traditional batik elements
No prior art experience is required. You’ll be guided step by step and encouraged to experiment, play, and create freely. Each participant leaves with a hand-painted canvas artwork, one of a kind, made by you, and inspired by a centuries-old tradition.
